what I do

The projects I’m interested in working on are those that involve Community Development and Capacity Building through Arts, Design and Culture. I have successfully strategised and led a number of community focused projects. I have developed mentoring programs to develop visual arts and design practitioners, curated exhibitions to showcase artworks and products developed, and edited books on community development. Examples of my projects can be seen in the image gallery. I'm an Associate with international design organisations One United Republic, Singapore and Domaine de Boisbuchet, France

I have a Masters in Design, a Bachelor of Interior Design, and extensive project and people management experience. My greatest skills lie in the ability to bring together the goals of various stakeholders, and develop a strategy to move forward. My own arts practice and people skills inform how I mentor others. I have a broad knowledge of design, art and culture fields, and business acumen.

I work on a project basis. I travel to locations where I’m required. I also work and collaborate remotely through the internet.  I am happy to work on the initial strategy and set-up of a project only. Or run a particular workshop, or be involved from strategy through to completion.

Marina is a power house, and sets a high standard for herself and all who work for her in all she does. With that, she is easy to communicate with and very approachable, and gives 100% support to all who collaborate with her. She gets things done and is a visionary. It's been a great pleasure working with her.

Christina Houen, writer, editor and colleague.
