My approach is to give students responsibility. It always amazes me
what they can produce—what they are capable of given the opportunity
and belief in them.
what I do
I have successfully developed, strategised and led an interior architecture department and offshore programs. I have contributed to design knowledge; supervised and examined Masters students; curated exhibitions; published widely and presented at international conferences; chaired and co-founded Australasian discipline body IDEA: Interior Design/Interior Architecture Educators Association, the leading voice for interior architecture education and research in the region. My greatest skills lie in being able to see the big picture, and formulating a strategy and detailed plan. I have the skills to move people along with me on the trip, whether it is course development or teaching and learning.
services
I work as a ‘consultant’ academic. I work with institutions with existing or planned interiors programs. The services I provide are: course & teaching development strategy, staff development, student teaching, moderation, research and creative practice development.
I travel to locations where I’m required. I also work and collaborate remotely through the internet. I am happy to work on the initial strategy and set-up of a course or project, or run a particular workshop/teaching seminar or series, or be involved from strategy through to completion.
