About the Event
The Making Paper Flowers includes an overview of the Yangon project and a demonstration on making a descendant of the wild rose of Myanmar. compliments the Yangon Alley Garden Exhibition 23 January – 7 February. In 2020 a Yangon community in collaboration with Spatialco, myself, and Doh Eain, a place-making social enterprise based in Yangon, made and 'planted' 1000 paper flowers in their 170-meter laneway.
1 AM Start includes an overview of the Yangon project and a demonstration on making a descendant of the wild rose of Myanmar. of Myanmar. flowers with a selected group of WA arts workers and artists interested in cultural exchange, place activation, and community connectedness.
ABOUT THE AFTERNOON
The half-day masterclass includes an overview of the Yangon project and a demonstration on making a descendant of the wild rose of Myanmar. Rosa odorata vargigantea is a wild species cultivated for centuries to develop tea roses.
I will provide equipment and materials for your use.
Each participant will go away with their flower.
12 participants maximum. All Covid safe practices respected.

- Meet & greet
- Artist’s talk on Yangon Alley Garden project & a Flower making demonstration from Marina
- Flower making commences - with coffee at will
